Here I am making my pilgrimage to the Dostoevsky Museum.
This is his last flat in St. Petersburg, where he wrote The Brothers Karamazov.
A view of Dostoevsky's study, the most important place in his five-room flat.
Another view of the same.
The Engineer's College, where Dostoevsky attended university.
In all of his living spaces, he insisted on having a view of a church. This is the church near his last flat.
Dostoevsky's grave in Tikhvin Cemetary at the Alexander Nevsky Monastery. He is surrounded by other artists, including many famous composers such as Tchaikovsky.
Other Literary Sites
Petersburg was home to dozens of other famous writers as well, including Brodsky, Akhmatova, Pushkin, Gogol, etc. Here are a couple of other literary shrines:
The Nabokov family house
Pushkin and me. I'm told the statue usually has a bird on his head, as he does here.
